In addition to the Accellera SystemC Evolution Day, we are continuing the SystemC Evolution with smaller, regular, workshops. We refer to these workshops as fikas (Swedish, pronounced fee-ka), to honor the fika tradition of sharing a coffee, slowing down a bit, and talking about things that we care about.
Our first SystemC Evolution Fika took place in March. It was well attended, with around 80 participants, and we covered Python and SystemC in one presentation, and the Intel SystemC compiler in one presentation.
The second Fika was held on June 30th. We learned how SystemC and QEMU can be combined, and we had a panel discussion on re-use of simulator features, such as logging, and re-use of models.
We were around 40 participants in this Fika, and we are now looking forward to the next upcoming event.
The next, and remaining event, for 2021, is the SystemC Evolution Day. This is the 6th instance of this yearly event – it will be, as in 2020, a virtual workshop.
The call for contributions is open, and we welcome your submissions on ideas for additions and improvements to SystemC and its further usage and standardization.
As said in the call for contributions,
“You can contribute with sharing insights from your own projects and studies, as well as with follow-up topics from previous SystemC Evolution Days. Topics related to specific application domains, such as automotive, communications, and industrial automation, are also welcome.”
Submission deadline is August 11th, 2021
For the Fikas, we will continue in 2022, with more Fika events. If you have ideas on topics that we should bring up, please contact us as indicated on our Fika page.
